Experience Barcelona the "Tour de France" way!

At the 9th of July 2009 Barcelona hosted the arrival of the sixth stage of the Tour de France cycling event. Our tour combines the Tour de France track with other interesting spots of the city like the biggest city-park of Barcelona, the Olympic harbour and the beach.

Montjuich MNAC

Of course we will go uphill to the easily reachable Montjuich where we also find the finish of the sixth stage of the Tour de France.

Finish Montjuich Tour de France

Once at Montjuich you will enjoy the marvelous views over Barcelona, its hills and the sea. We will conclude our trip with a relaxing downhill ride to our meeting point.

Montjuich Views and Swimming Pool

The tour starts at 10:00 am. The duration is approx. 3 hours from the starting point at subway station Liceu.

Tour difficulty

We follow the city streets of Barcelona and special bicycle lanes that have been introduced in the past years. The only thing you have to do is take good care of your fellow traffic colleagues, watch the signs and enjoy the views of Barcelona. There will be a 1 mile uphill climb which is quite easy if you have a normal cycling condition

The inner self

We will make one or two stops so you can order a drink or a snack.

Starting point.

We start at subway station Liceu. This station is situated right in the centre at the Ramblas and is easy to reach for those who are staying just outside the city centre. You can take subway-line 3 (the green line) that passes central stations like Diagonal, Plaza Catalunya or Sants.
